10th Post: Mugger's Hangout!

Ah, congratulations to myself! for hitting the 10th post, which effectively meant that my blog has more posts than my old blog yay :D *pats own back*

Exams are round the corner, for me that is, cos my first paper starts 1 week (i.e. next mon) after the exams started, heh, lucky me.. rather, smart me haha (ego) so i've more time to study!

Besides studying in sch, been hopping from place to place to study, from starbucks at united sq to coffee bean at changi airport.. cos I really can't study at home man.. firstly its too hot, and secondly there's too much distractions.. I found myself 1. watching more tv (i want to watch dolphin bay, sisters, any of u have?) 2. playing games on shockwave.com 3. blogging (like now) 4. teaching my sister how to play card games so she can play with me 5. even reading the newspapers! most of the time I'm a mountain tortoise, i dunno what's gg on ard the world cos i dont read newspapers one, as iggy can testify haha

Anyway, changi is really pretty cool, shall post more about it when I'm in the mood, but for now, any of u eastern-ers who dread gg all the way to sch to study can check it out! :)

All the Best to all of U! :D

What is unconditional love?

As Mother's day draws nearer, let us take a moment to remember how our mums have been there with us through difficult times..

I must be bubbling with sweetness (grin)

Haha, suddenly have the urge to blog about the one thing I cannot live without, food! esp yummmy sweet stuff :p

There's a new cafe Canele in paragon! basement area, near the M1 shop. offers a whole range of delectable desserts from crepe to ice cream to cakes and meringues! perfect for the sweet tooth like me. now there's more choices besides bakerzin, yay! There's also this section selling chocolates too lar, but people who know me will know I'm no chocolate expert.. haha

Geri had this thing called 'chloe', which i din particularly fancy heh. I ordered creme caramel (the one in the nice round glass), oh my goodness.. delightful, haha

Now that I'm this topic.. haha.. shall continue posting all the wonderful desserts that I've tried recently :p It was Uncle Koh's birthday last month, and godmum treated us, including geri, to buffet lunch at Plaza Hotel.. had nice stuff like drunken prawn and raw oyster, but most importantly, it's got free flow sashimi! Goodness.. and I would say they are at least sakae standard.. went for 3 servings, must also commend it for its wide selection of desserts too! I particularly liked the tiramisu (taken with the salmon)

On another occassion, went along for geri's fren's birthday. She and her bf happens to be Essential Brew's (at holland V) co-owners, and her bf treated us to a 12-course meal! Each course is bite sized la haha, ranging from mousse cake to soup to salad, some of which were really q interesting.. (seen in the picture clockwise: mushroom salad, prawn with some strange sauce, chicken bits, raspberry creme, smoked salmon)

Last but not least.. I missed the free flow peppermint chocochip ice cream from Equinox! the best peppermint ice cream I've ever tried..

Hehe.. yummmmmmy.. now I'm craving for more food..

If I were Peter Petrelli

If I were really Peter Petrelli, the top 5 heroes powers that I would want to absorb would be..

1. Sylar's telekinetic powers.. cos half the time I'm too lazy to move to get drinks etc, good for lazy people like me :p also thought it'll be cool that i can help to clear rubbish thrown by others on the road w/o having to touch em and dirty my hands

2. Hiro's time and spacing bending powers.. muahaha, this is like the coolest thing ever.. (no it has nothing to do with physics), imagine having all the time in the world to finish exam papers, for instance. and i need 48 hrs a day..

3. Parkman's mindreading powers, though this is q like a double-edged sword.. but oh well, just hope reading too much of people's evil thoughts wouldn't make me more jaded than i already am :P

p/s, with this power i would also alr know what exam qns are gonna come out, coupled with power 2 and 3.. oh man :p

4. Charlie's super-memory, i'm very very forgetful, and there's so much stuff i want to learn!

5. Claire's ultrahealing.. always wondered what is it like to try bungee, without the rope, haha. imagine all the dangerous shit u can try.. maybe i can also install adamantium claws like wolverine :p

Breathe (2 AM)

2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
"Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?,
I don't love him. Winter just wasn't my season"
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to criticize,
Hypocrites. You're all here for the very same reason

'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl.
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe

May he turn 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
"Just a day" he said down to the flask in his fist,
"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year."
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while,
But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles,
Wanna hold him. Maybe I'll just sing about it.

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button, boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe

There's a light at each end of this tunnel,
You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.

2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.
and breathe, just breathe
woah breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breathe.

Nik sent me this song by Anna Nalick last night. I found the tune pretty nice, but the lyrics didn't particularly touched me.. not until today during mass. so I came back and listen to the song again.. and found myself beginning to like it more.. haha

"And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around."

really? Looking back on all the mistakes I've made in these past years.. would I really make them again if I had a chance to go back? sigh.. wat a depressing thought.. true, people might say we grow and learn as a result, i wouldn't have mind if the mistakes affect me and only me alone, but how do you make up for others' hurt..?

Brad Little!

Thanks Marc!

PainFast

痛快
s.h.e
encore

First (Real) Post!

Considering that the previous 2 posts are mainly 'copied' stuff (must put stuff that match the title and intent of this blog mah), I think I should stop bumming around and get down to writing some real stuff, haha.. now u know why I could never get a blog going, and why my previous one dieded :P Taking bets for guessing how long this blog will last before the laziness bug gets to me!

Anyway, lemme begin by updating on interesting events that had happened :p

Set in a quiet hideout along alexandra road, we had our day of recollection during Lent, conducted by our spiritual director sister Sandra :) The theme was on the parable of "The Prodigal Son". Q insightful, cos most of the time we only pay attention to the younger brother who ran frm home and squandered his father's money, but ignored the elder brother who "thought" that he did the father's will and couldn't accept it when his younger brother could be so easily forgiven.. sounds a bit like what happens to us sometimes, when we are self-righteous and couldn't accept the faults of others..

The group of us who went, there's this really beautiful plain tucked at the back whom we were supposed to take a reflective walk to.. what a breathtaking view! never knew a place like this existed in singapore. while we were there, actually saw 2 couples taking wedding photos haha

On another occassion, Geri and I went to watch Phantom of the opera! I guess for me, I would summarised the entire show with 2 comments: Brad Little rocks! the sets rocks! Brad little really brings the phantom to life man... his whole repertoire of vocal ranges and powerfully 'emofied' singing, really gotta hear it for urself. And I think the stage manager must be the busiest man in the whole musical, with gigantic elephants rolling out one instant, falling chandeliers (yup that lantern-like thingy in the pic, secretly taken :P ), and an absolutely dreamlike underground lake.. (p.s i think i know how they did the candles rising from the waters trick.. its a physics thing :p )

On hindsight though.. the thought that one ticket costs me 20 normal movie tixs pains me... haha. Chengwei was telling me how the musical tickets costs almost as much as the movie tickets in NY... ^_^"
Thank you bro..
